Rate That Restaurant is South Africa’s fastest growing free online directory. Our aim is to promote South African restaurants, from your favourite little eatery around the corner to the highest culinary acclaimed restaurants in South Africa. With an ever increasing base of restaurants we hope to have them all, and if we don’t we encourage you to send us their information.

We constantly have news articles on our blog as well as product reviews, upcoming events, as well as, a soon to be launched, restaurant specials section. Keep an eye on the blog as it’s where we announce competitions, giveaways and restaurant specials.

Rate That Restaurant’s aim is to give you the power. Far too often restaurant critics are well known or visit a restaurant on a good (or bad day), have special preferences, or are treated with a little more attention, why should the public not get the same treatment? Everyone likes to receive praise and recognition when they are doing a good job, so spread the word and rate restaurants when they are impressing you and not just when they disappoint you.

The team at Rate That Restaurant is constantly invited to review restaurants. We will always state at the beginning of a discussion that we will not visit the restaurant as critics but would be happy to visit and promote restaurants when they have:  just opened, have undergone large menu changes, are introducing a new chef or have any changes they feel the need to share with the general public through the Rate That Restaurant blog.

Rate That Restaurant has a large following and involvement with the South African food scene and is an active member of the South African Chefs Association and Slowfood. As well as being members of these associations, we are always looking at getting involved with other food related associations and groups to increase the awareness of restaurants, food and service in South Africa.
